I was playing the song Our God for my daughter... Five times, back to back. And then, I decided to "troll" through youtube to see what I could find. And do you know what happened? I came across a sermon by Dr. Bridget Hilliard. Ok, let me clarify a few things for you:
- I am NOT one of those church-y people. I will not force feed my God to you;
- I am a Christian;
- I was raised in the church, now I'm raising the God in me.
With those things said, let me back track a couple of months. In April of this year, I was totally introduced to The Women Who Win conference at New Light Christian Center in Houston. (Thank you, Neek & Stacey!) During those three days, I pressed into God's presence. I made my way in and invited Him to dwell within me, and I had a breakthrough. Or, as Oprah would say "A-ha Moment".
I was filled with so many dreams and ideas that had piggy backed off of previous dreams in my life. I can't say that I was renewed by the WWW conference because I wasn't. I was reborn! Even my husband, Jeremy, noticed that I was a different person. Overnight, I had become a better, gentler, Godlier wife. I felt new, he knew I was new, and everything was kosher, right? Wrong. Since then, all of the dreams that God had given me in April were not as important anymore. Yes, I constantly work on being a better wife. However, everything else was just left where I found it.
UNTIL tonight!!! As I mentioned before, I came across this sermon and it has changed everything. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGTU6pNw17I&feature=related ) So, as I put the necessary forth effort to make my dreams to come to pass... Get ready to get dusted with my glitter!! (More on that later)
Points to reflect upon...
- A dream is a seed planted by God. It is up to us to water, fertilize, and groom it.
- If we help God to help us, the seed turns into a mighty, fruitful tree.
- Who we are today does not have to be who we are tomorrow.
Keep it Glittery!!
Britt
